In 1983, the source of a natural spring was discovered, situated at an altitude of 500 m and looking out over the Echigo Sanzan mountains. The spring quality is rated as a neutral hypotonic cold mineral spring, and it is thought to be effective in treating neuralgia, rheumatism, and locomotorium disorders.
