Eirinji Temple
Uonuma City
Sculptures by
The Eirinji Temple was constructed roughly 500 years ago. This storied temple held a vast fief and was permitted to use an official crest in the shape of a hollyhock. It is also famous for the many carvings left by master craftsman Uncho Ishikawa. The relief he spent 13 years carving into the transom is not to be missed.
