Retreat lodges are accommodations run and staffed by people who have undergone the Snow Country Tourism Zone's retreat training and understand the purpose of the retreat. They will ensure that the flow of the retreat experience continues even when participants return to the place they are staying after the daytime activities.
These are the principles to which the Yukiguni Retreat Lodges adhere to.

1

Understand and are on board with the Yukiguni Retreat concept

By participating in its information sessions and workshops we have understood and agree with the purpose and the specifics of the Yukiguni Retreat. Provide services in such a way as to not disturb the guests, and provide spaces where they can be alone or where they can conduct dialogues.

2

Understanding and loving the nature and culture of Snow Country

Have a deepened understanding of the surrounding nature and culture and provide opportunities for our guests to experience them. Serve meals using local ingredients to our visitors. Through this and the preservation of the local natural environment and culture, show commitment to passing on these local resources to the next generation.

3

Contributing to the development of Yukiguni Retreat

Show a willingness to participate in the Yukiguni Retreat gatherings and take action to improve and develop them. Be willing to share knowledge and skills.

4

Ensuring that participants feel that they are still on the retreat during their stay

Understand that the retreat includes the time for participants to rest at their chosen accommodation after the daytime activities, and make sure that participants can enjoy their time quietly.
